Hindu Sabha TempleĀ 

Hindu Sabha is a non-profit religious organization. Hindus enjoy a privilege of preserving the most ancient culture, civilization and the religion of the mankind. To maintain this unique tradition, five founding members through their vision, dedication and hard work established and registered in 1975 the Society in the name of Hindu Sabha.

The purpose of the Society is to promote the study, practice and development of Sanatan (Eternal) Dharma which is the sum total of Hindu culture, philosophy and religion. Hindu Sabha serves not only our need, but will also serve the needs of future generations by preserving our great spiritual and cultural heritage. From the very idea of constructing the temple, to it's present state, you will find visual tour in this section. Construction of the temple started on May 22nd, 1994 and it took more than one year to finish the first phase. To see the construction phase pictures, please click here

The temple was inaugurated in June 1995. The lower level, main floor external shell and most of the roof is complete. Shikharas were completed in 1999/2000 and complete structure is ready now. The temple has approximately 32,000 sq. feet of constructed space including the lower level. Main floor is approximately 17,000 sq. feet including 4,000 sq. feet Altar.

Community Hall and kitchen on the lower level is approximately 15,000 sq. feet. The main prayer hall accommodates over 1000 people.

Total height of the main Shikhara is approximately 120 feet.


Timeline and History

1975
Hindu Sabha established by five founding members. Sabha used Falling Dale Public School for weekly prayers.
1979
Moved to its own temple on Highway 10 in Brampton, Ontario, Canada
1985
Purchased 25 acres of land in Brampton for new temple to serve growing community's needs
1988
25 Acres land mortgage paid off.
1990
Achieved rezoning to construct a new temple.
1991
Created vision of Hindu Sabha
1992
Creation of Hindu Sabha's new temple model
1992
Ground Breaking Ceremony (Bhoomi Pooja) for the new temple construction.
1994
Construction started

New temple's inauguration and Jagdamba Maata Murti Praan Pratishtha by world renowned His Holiness former Jagat Guru Shankracharya Swami Satyamitranand Giri ji Maharaj.

Shiva Darbar Praan Pratishtha by His Holiness Gopaldham Pithadhishwar Swami Gopal Sharan Devacharya Ji (Vrindavan)

Held very successful Fund Raising Dinner at Payal Banquet Hall filled to capacity.

Vishal Bhagwati Jaagran by Shri Narindra Chanchal Ji and party from India. Over 15000 devotees benefitted from Ma Jagdamba's blessings.

Shri Laxmi Narayan Praan Pratishtha by Jagadguru Mahamandaleshwar Shri Shri Yogiraj Swami Mohan Das ji Vairagi.

Hindu community of the area benefitted greatly with melodious Shrimad Bhagvat Katha by Shri Mridul Goswami Krishan Ji (Vrindavan)

Over 10,000 devotees celebrated Deepawali function at the temple. Also, participated in Deepwali function at Canadian Parliament Building.
1999

Launched the World Wide Web site of Hindu Sabha.

Started the final phase of construction of Shikharas which took 2 years to finish.

2001
Started the landscaping project around the Temple.

Seniors' Green House : We are in the process of planning and construction of seniors' accommodation with recreational facilities.
